You’ve probably heard “Down” by Marian Hill when CBS TV aired it on the opening of March Madness Selection Sunday as this years brackets were being announced and/or in Apple’s new iphone 7 TV ads: Marian Hill is a male/female duo, neither named Marian nor Hill* (see explanation below).

“Down” is a multi-format hit, charting on Top 40, Adult Top 40 and Alternative radio.  It’s original, creative, hip, smart, musical, sophisticated, and droll with a distinct sound that’s moody, haunting and unique.

The same might be said for Cyndi Lauper’s classic “True Colors.”  Both songs have that “extra something.”

“Down” pulls you in, and sticks with you.  Which is probably why it’s on numerous formats, and why blue-chip brands such as Apple and CBS-TV selected it to promote their programs and products.

About Marian Hill
They are from Philadelphia.
They are Jeremy Lloyd, producer, and singer Samantha Gongol.
They’ve known each other since 8th grade.

They met while both were performing in the school production of “The Music Man.”  He played Harold Hill, and she played Marian the Librarian.  Thus, the name.

Reader beware:  they are shockingly young.
