Newcomer singer and songwriter Stephen Wrabel’s debut song “11 Blocks” brings to mind 1987’s “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake because both tunes have the common thread of building intensity as they each tell their own story of trying to recapture love.

“Here I Go Again” is gritty and angry, and lashes out in frustration, while “11 Blocks” is charming and open-hearted, and wanders around kind of lost.   Mainly, both songs express the suffering of unrequited love and/or painful breakups, which is a reminder that the relationship thing is just as much an emotional bombshell to today’s generation, as it was when we Boomers were in our teens and 20s, and 30s, despite the emergence of Tinder and a “hook-up” culture.

Wrabel, as he is known, sharpened his music chops as a writer, and thanks to the backing and belief of fellow artist Kesha (and “11 Blocks’” catchy melody) Wrabel’s vocals are gaining traction.

“11 Blocks” is currently, and rapidly, climbing the  Adult Top 40 chart.

Stephen Wrabel is 27 year old.

He’s from New York.

In 2014, The “Huffington Post” named Wrabel an “Artist You Need To Know.”
