Music SuperStar. Married to a gorgeous Argentine actress who is mother to their two young sons, and now, a “line extension”—leveraging his brand as a romantic heartthrob who flatters women with the voice equivalent of good lighting, “Michael Buble, The Brand” forays into the
women’s fragrance market with “By Invitation,” a scent Buble describes as “love in a bottle.”
And, not by coincidence, but by well-planned marketing, next month–October –he’ll release his first new album in three years. The title song, “Nobody But Me,” is already charting on Adult Contemporary radio. It’s very “Pop” yet it features Black Thought (of The Roots) being urban and staccato for 20 seconds, and then it’s back to the Pop sound.
I admit that I once wondered why we need Michael Buble when we have Frank Sinatra, but I also think his version of “Comin’ Home Baby” which was featured in the movie “An Education” was better than Mel Torme’s, and I do enjoy listening to Buble. Even if he is doing a Frank Sinatra tribute show.
Included in the new CD is his version of The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows.”
