Call it eerily prophetic—but—in the mid-80’s Wham! released “Last Christmas”–which went on to became a holiday classic –and then, some 30-years later, George Michael dies on Christmas Day, at 53-years old, a relatively young age. The youngest of the Boomer generation.

His life was short and fast,  but he left a legacy. Michael was only 21-years old when he and Wham! partner Andrew Ridgeley released their smash debut “Wake Me Up When You Go Go” which made them over-night global celebrities.

Three years later, Michael became a solo act with a string of #1s.  He  gifted the world with some amazing songs.

Perhaps one of his greatest achievements was his debut solo album “Faith” which included the song “One More Try” –it reached number one on Billboard’s Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and R&B charts, a rare and remarkable accomplishment.

A lasting legacy, indeed.
