Right from the get-go, the trio known as Lady Antebellum have been Country Superstars.
They began carving out their new and original sound a decade ago, and now they’ve got a catalog of diverse songs, with brilliant lyrics.
Their latest is the up-tempo “You Look Good” driven by a sexy hook and backed by horns, the production is a brilliant Pop/Country blend –it’s a good candidate to crossover from Country into Pop. It’s got a compulsive rhythm, with lyrics that lull you with their cleverness and rapid fire delivery.
“You Look Good” captures the heat and the beat generated by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks in their 1981 “ Stop Dragging My Heart Around,” and although the messages are very different, and Nicks and Petty’s classic is a slightly less intense tempo, strains of the melody in “You Look Good” can be heard on “Stop Dragging’ My Heart Around.”
