Last August, Boomer Music Update singled out “All We Ever Knew” by Head and The Heart, an alternative Seattle based 70s sounding folk pop group with wide appeal.

Some six months later, “All We Ever Knew” is #1 on the Adult Alternative charts and is currently fast tracking on Adult Top 40.

And while Pop radio is just now embracing Head and The Heart’s last year’s single, Adult Alternative radio stations are once again leading the charge by playing the band’s latest release —“Rhythm & Blues” — currently the “Top 5 Most Played Song” on that format.

“Rhythm & Blues” is mellow but energetic, the lyrics are creative and original, but not too outside the box:  a guy wants to take a girl home and he’s doing his best to impress her.

Ain’t it nice to be so lucky

Ain’t it nice to be so loved

Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me

Won’t you let me drive you home

The band–five men and one woman–formed in 2009 and although they coalesced in Seattle, they are from all over the USA, ranging from CA to Richmond, VA.

Co-founder and front man Josiah Johnson explains the band’s unusual name:

“Your head is telling you to be stable and find a good job, (but) you know in your heart that the band is what you’re supposed to do, even if it’s crazy!”

Head and The Heart will perform at the 2017 Coachella Music Fest, in Indio, CA.
