Sometimes we underestimate our collective need for simple humanity, popularly sloganized into a utopian “Peace, Love and Understanding.”

We Boomers have been listening to that siren song for over 40 years, with considerable support from George Harrison’s warm and fuzzy appeal for a better world: Both “My Sweet Lord” and “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth”) went to #1.

Filling the slot reserved for “Joy and Positive Vibes, 2017 Style” is singer/songwriter Andy Grammer, whose “Give Love” has skyrocketed into the Top 20 on the Adult Top 40 chart. Proof, perhaps, that all ages, and generations, do, in fact, hunger for the above mentioned “Peace, Love & Understanding?”

Andy Grammer’s dad is singer/songwriter Red Grammer, one of the most respected names in the “Childrens” genre of music; among his works is “Teaching Peace” named “one of the top five children’s recordings of all time” by All Music Guide.

However, it was his mother who inspired “Give Love,” which btw, features LunchMoney Lewis, a charming hip-hop/R&B star from Miami; together they create a real upper of a song that is a tribute and love letter to Grammer’s mother’s wisdom, encouragement, and support that is 100% modern and hip; appreciative but not sentimental.  Touching.

Andy Grammer does happy really well,  Two of his previous big hits were “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)” and “Fresh Eyes” that BMU featured this past October. https://boomermusicupdate.com/pop/eye-opening-song-love-life/
