Kick-ass punk and ska are back, and its name is “The Interrupters,” three Los Angeles, CA area brothers joined by singer/songwriter Aimee Allen aka Aimee Interrupter.
Remember the raw, overpowering energy of 1960’s garage bands? That sound became the foundation for punk, which emerged a decade later.
Adding Jamaican Ska to the mix gave birth to Punk/Ska and bands such as the British group Madness,who put their pop-polish on now classic tracks like 1979’s “One Step Beyond.”
The Interrupters are reviving that sound on “She’s Kerosene,” two words that tell you everything you need to know. It’s one of the hottest songs this summer, nearing top ten on the Alternative chart.
It’s almost impossible to sit still when listening to “She’s Kerosene”….
