Jon Pardi soothes the pain of a breakup with multiple rounds of “Heartache Medication,” a song that lovers of old school Country will appreciate.
I got my heartache medication, a strong dedication
To gettin’ over you…
and
My heartache medication, well it suits me fine
And I’m drinkin’ enough to take you off my mind
And I’m drinkin’ enough to take you off my mind
The concept–drinking away the misery–has worked for dozens: Merle Haggard, Dean Martin, Mel Tillis, Robert Mitchum, each with his own spin.
Pardi, a 34-year old Nashville based singer/songwriter by way of Northern California, won “New Artist” honors from both the Country Music Association and the Acadamy of Country Music in 2017.
“Heartache Medication” is the title song from his upcoming (third) album, due out in late September. Pardi’s latest tour kicks off at Nashville’s Oct. 1st in Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium–aka “The Mother Church Of Country Music”.
The first Ray Price type violin note sets the tone on this great song.
