You probably won’t recognize his name–Benny Mardones–however, you probably will recognize the best selling song he penned 40 years ago–“Into The Night”…it has such a captivating melody that it charted on the “Billboard Hot 100” three different times: first in 1980, the initial release, and then again (same song, same version) in 1989, and then, one more time, in 2019.
Born in 1946, the first year of the Baby Boom, Mardones was 73 y/o when he passed away late last month from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Embedded deep into our hearts……”Into The Night ”
will fill the air with Benny’s spirit forever!
Thank you my Brother….my Friend!!

A wonderful stated tribute to Benny. Thanks for that expression of genuine appreciation.
The *Voice* will be sadly missed by all of his fans in CNY. His music will live forever and the memories of Benny and the way he gave it his all at his shows, no matter how he was feeling he will be in our hearts forever. Always thinking of us, his fans from CNY as he flew from California to CNY for one last show at the Turning Stone in 2017 even after his doctors advised him not too. It was a night to remember as it was truly a love affair between him and us the fans of Central New York. Always called Syracuse’s adopted son, our hearts go out to Jane and his son Michael as well as the rest of his family. May he rest in peace and knowing at some point we will all be taken *Into the Night* We love you Benny, Bruce & Patricia DeLine
Thank you so much Jane! This is beautiful…just like you. Love you?❤
he as the best he always was there for everyone we will miss him deartly may you rest in peace my friend we will never forget the greastest singer that we all knew and loved
He had albums full of great songs. Why he wasn’t more popular I don’t know.
Definitely a huge loss to the music industry as well as his family, friends and fans. I hope the documentary finally gets released and if not, then I hope someone will create a new documentary that will honor Benny’s musical legacy and introduce him to other generations besides ours. He deserves it and he should have been an international artist. We all will miss him and my condolences go out to his beautiful wife, Jane and his son Michael.
Bruce..many thanks for sharing that memory and of the total dedication Benny had to his
fans and to performing. A touching comment from you and Patricia.
Benny is forever in my heart. He was born on my mom’s Birthday, and he passed on my Birthday. The best lines ever in a song “I can’t measure my love. There’s nothing to compare it to.” We even shared love for Pavarotti. Fly high, Sweet Soul, fly high. All my love! ????
