Leon Bridges has been featured four times on Boomer Music Update, so there’s a high probability that when he has a new release, we’ll check it out.

“If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be)” is his latest.  He’s traded in his soulful, mellow sound and instead, heads into upbeat, rhythmic territory, singing and dancing in the streets of Paris in the song’s video, which is so delightful it could inspire listeners and viewers to do the same.

Chances are good that “If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be)” will do well on the charts, and get airplay, however, the bigger picture is that 29-year old Leon Bridges is a star, an A-level, Grammy nominated (2016) artist– a name that you’ll want to be aware of.

As we noted before, the WSJ thought his songs are a la Otis Redding and Sam Cooke; the Ft. Worth Weekly (his hometown paper) described Bridges as someone whose “music sounds like he looks.”

“Good Thing” is the album title that this latest Leon Bridges hit comes from, and “Good Thing” is also the name of 1989’s hit by the Fine Young Cannibals, a song that can withstand the test of time.

In addition to identical titles, both songs are rock n’ roll with the rough edges smoothed out. Sophisticated.  And both videos have fine dance floor moves, in addition to the music grooves.

“If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be)” is #13 on the Alternative chart.
