Sat. is the first day of Spring AND there’s light at the end of the tunnel re: the Covid pandemic: movies and restaurants are re-opening, people are getting vaccinated, travel is picking up….
The time is right for “Close to You” by Dayglow, a bouncy, dance-worthy tune with an 80s vibe, an upbeat melody and lighthearted vocals, and while not AS bouncy or as lighthearted as Billy Ocean’s 1988 “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car,” we’re glad to enjoy it, anyway.
Dayglow is Sloan Struble– a 21-year old wunderkind from Ft. Worth, TX who taught himself guitar, bass, keyboard, synthesizer and drums, as well as how to produce and mix music, later studying advertising at the University of Texas, Austin.
“Close to You” charts at #21 on Alt and #34 on Adult Alt.
