There’s a lot to be said for the comfort of Pop-Rock.

It feels good to listen to and it’s easy to sing along with, the lyrics are uncomplicated and non-challenging…what’s not to like?

Neon Trees, back after a 5-year hiatus, have an Alt hit with “Used To Like,” an uptempo tune with the energy and rock sensibility of “I Want You To Want Me (Cheap Trick, 1979).

Lines like this may not make much sense, but as part of the whole Pop-Rock experience, they get the job done:

If only you were lonely
Maybe I was holy
We could be together
Bending over backwards
You become an actor
Be my thrill forever
