True love—it waxes, it wanes…for almost everyone, even rich and famous rock stars like Imagine Dragons lead singer and songwriter Dan Reynolds.
He and his wife were on the outs; a divorce was imminent. But then, she sent a “life changing text”—they met for lunch—reconsidered the whole thing and reunited. Later Reynolds and the band wrote “Follow You” about that experience.
I will follow you way down wherever you may go
I’ll follow you way down to your deepest low
I’ll always be around wherever life takes you
You know I’ll follow you
“Follow You” is a love song, melodic, upbeat, and positive—appropriate for a song about enduring love and commitment, but it’s not as much fun or as bouncy as “Still the One” by Orleans (1976) which also espouses long-lived love and commitment.
“Follow You” just went #1 on the Alternative chart and entered the “Top 10” on Top 40. It’s included in the band’s upcoming 5th album, their first since 2018.
