Here’s a cool, hip, modern song about about peace, love and understanding:   “Dig Down” by the British band Muse.

Like many of their past releases, this newest effort reflects the band’s social consciousness and activism.

Written by the group’s Matt Bellamy, “Dig Down” is a call for optimism and hope and for the inspiration that encourages “people to fight for causes they believe in.”

When hope and love has been lost

And you fall to the ground

You must find a way

When the darkness descends

And you’re told it’s the end

You must find a way

When God decides to look the other way

And a clown takes the throne

We must find a way

Face the firing squad

Against all odds

You will find a way

Dig down

And find faith

When you are close to the edge

With a gun to your head

You must find a way

Muse fans are thrilled, having waited for two years for new Muse material.

The band performs to sell out crowds, projecting a larger than life sound that belies the fact they are just a trio.

“Dig Down” will likely reach #1 on the Alternative charts within the next few weeks.

U2 is another group that has embraced social and political causes, plus, their sound on the 1987 hit “With Or Without You” is has the same remote, aloof, quiet storm that is present in “Dig In.”
