Beck and Gene Simmons (and the whole KISS band)—could they be more different? Blond and pale, cerebral and artistic Beck is the opposite of Simmons, the wild, crazed rocker, in full-face makeup, with his tongue sticking out.

The anti-Beck.  And yet…

Both are singing the same sentiment, each in their own way.  LET’S PARTY, ALL NIGHT LONG!!! YAAOOW!

KISS screeched their way to a hit in 1975 with “Rock & Roll All Nite” and Beck sings the same message, in “Up all Night” his newest, which combines elements of pop and rock and injects a fun quality that screams get up and jump.  This upbeat style is clearly unique for Beck, based on his earlier material.  The music is bolstered by the lyrics:

I want to stay up all night and jump around until we see the sun.”

Be warned, the video isn’t as much fun as the words, it’s more “Blade Runner” than “Animal House.”

“Up All Night” is already Top 10 on the Alternative charts.  It’s from “Colors,” Beck’s just recently released thirteenth album, which was four years in the making.
