BoomerMusicUpdate has raved about Leon Bridges for years: we love his music, and want you to love it, too.

“Beyond,” his newest release is a good example of why you, as a with-it, connected, and hip Boomer, will want to at least be aware of it.

Bridges just turned 29-years old, however, listening to his music and the spell he weaves vocally one would expect him to have been born years earlier –his style echoes the great soul singers from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Bridges is well-known–The WSJ compared him to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding and he’s won a slew of prizes and awards, but he’s probably not a household name to Boomers, who would surely appreciate his music.

We’ve described him as silky and evocative of the 70s sensuous, sophisticated, sexy soul sounds.

“Beyond” has a 70’s vibe, sharing a spirit with songs like 1976’s “Love Ballad,” by retro-soul group L.T.D- -both songs ponder the question “what happens when you’ve found “the one?”

Adult Alternative radio has embraced Bridges from the git-go. His last single, “Bad Bad News,” hit #1 in that format. https://boomermusicupdate.com/alternative/bad-bad-news-must-listen/

“Beyond,” his follow-up, is closing in on the Adult Alternative Top 10 AND it’s crossing over to Adult Top 40 stations, where’s it now #22.

It’s a wonderful thing, when an artist  as talented as Leon Bridges “hits it big.”
