Every generation has to have its own version of ‘Kiss you All Over ‘”(Exile, 1978) and right now the Zac Brown Band’s “Beautiful Drug” is filling the niche reserved for “intense love and lust” in a song that builds from a spark to a flame to fireworks.

Technically speaking, The Zac Brown Band is Country, but “Beautiful Drug” doesn’t sound particularly Country, probably because songs like this transcend formats: everybody gets it.

Never one to follow a formula, Zac Brown is known as a guy who likes to break the rules, and he’s once again giving Country music a jolt. Luckily he and his band are top tier, which gives them the space to push the boundaries and experiment.

“Beautiful Drug” is from the band’s latest album, the aptly named “Jekyll & Hyde.”
