If you love Country music, next week is a good week because it’s the 50th anniversary of “CMAs” –the Country Music Awards—and to mark the occasion, the annual awards show will be extra special.

Awards night is known as “Country’s Biggest Night” — when the venerable Country Music Association hands out trophies to honor the top artists, writers, producers of the year. Fifty years ago, these were the top  winners:

Eddy Arnold – Entertainer Of The Year
Loretta Lynn – Female Artist Of The Year
Jack Greene – Male Artist of the Year
Dallas Frazier – Song Of The Year for “There Goes My Everything”

Times have changed, in the past 50-years. There’s “been a shift” in direction, in fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a nominee this year who’s old enough to have even watched that first CMA show.

The show is Wednesday night, Nov. 2nd, at 7 PM/Central, on ABC. Returning as MCs are Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, who’ve done well a hosts in the past.

Created for the show is a 4- minute video cleverly edited to include many, if not all, of today’s cream of the crop artists.  Watching it which was a reminder of how big the talent pool of contemporary Country is —-Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood.

Here’s the video that will be shown on the show.
