Dolly Parton was born Jan. 19, 1946, less than three weeks into the Baby Boom.  Now she’s 70, and doing what she’s always done: traveling the globe, entertaining and charming audiences each time she steps on stage.

Today, May 6th, Dolly goes home to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where she will be saluted for the 31st time by thousands of adoring fans, there to join her for the annual “Dolly’s Homecoming Parade.”

And guess what?  You, and I, and everyone can watch it live via Facebook…one of their first live streams.

The parade steps off at 6 p.m. (Central Time); streaming information at LumberjackAdventure.com and DollyParton.com

This is how we know that (almost) everyone loves Dolly:

1.  She’s sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

2.  Her December TV movie “Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors” had 15 million+ viewers, and was the most watched film on network TV since May 2012.

3.  She wrote “I Will Always Love You,” which Whitney Houston turned into magic.

4. She’s been a star for 50 years.  Never a hint of scandal.  She’s gone beyond Country music—she’s a global brand and a brilliant businesswoman.

5.  Because, when she was in her 20s, she wrote and performed “Tennessee Mountain Home” with a clear, true voice and a hopeful, loving heart, sharing with us her deep love of her home and giving us a glimpse into her roots.
