Ha, you don’t even need a calendar to know it’s the Christmas season, just listen to the radio or check out the slew of recent holiday albums including releases by Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, Blake Shelton, and Kelsea Ballerini.
One of the most anticipated is Taylor Swift’s long awaited “Reputation,” which was released a few weeks ago, selling a million+ copies in four days!
“Reputation’s” first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” and two more cuts, are grabbing Top 40 and Adult Top 40 airplay while “New Years Day,” which she performed recently on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” is Country. It’s a heartfelt song in the tradition of Carole King’s beautiful “Where You Lead” from the “Tapestry” album, which to date, has sold more than 25 million copies.
Swift said she had a few lines of special lyrics that she was saving for the right song, and here they are:
Please don’t ever become a stranger/Whose laugh I could recognize anywhere
(Hold on the memories, they will hold on to you)
Swift is the first artist in history to have four albums that each sold more than a million copies the first week of release.
Today is her 28th birthday. Her net worth’s in the $300 million range.
She’ll be touring in 2018, to support this new album.
