Dave is linking Aerosmith’s 1998 #1 power ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” to Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” which reached #1 in Country, and is now very strong on the pop charts.
You might think that’s an odd pairing, and I did too, at first, but now I totally get it, and once you listen, you will, too.
The powerful video that goes with “Take Your Time” has love at it’s worst and most violent. The word “obsessive” comes to mind for this song and for also Steve Tyler’s anguished performance.
Although the two songs have very different themes, they have a similar melody and vocal style.
Hunt is a hunk, a former college football star and the ladies go wild for both his music and his looks. They probably did the same for Steven Tyler, too, back in the day!
