If you’re an early Boomer, you were around 50-years old in the 90s, when Boyz II Men were at their peak, so you probably relate when Dave Sholin links the new “Lights Down Low” by MAX, to the oldie “I’ll Make Love To You,“ but just in case you missed the Boyz II Men wave, don’t let that keep you from a good new song.
Multi talented 25-year-old MAX, an early learner and earner started performing at 3-years old: modeling, acting, and dancing. At 14 he hired an agent, and now he’s a singer/songwriter/hit maker, as his “Lights Down Low” ranks inside the top 20 on both Top 40 and Adult Top 40 music charts.
“Lights Down Low” is a love song: an easy going, melodic tale of life-long love, that universal, age resistant topic, and here’s MAX’s take on it, circa early 21st century.
Joining MAX on “Lights Down Low” is noted producer, rapper and fellow singer/songwriter gnash who brings the lyrics an extra point of emphasis, though they really don’t require a great deal of clarity, which was also the case, back in 1994, when the Babyface penned “I’ll Make Love to You” went global and was #1 for three months.
