In 2010, then 13-year old Hailee Steinfeld played little Mattie Ross in the remake of “True Grit,” with Jeff Bridges playing Rooster Cogburn.
Six years later, Jeff Bridges looks a bit older, but, overall pretty much the same. Hailee Steinfeld, now 19, does not.
She’s added singing to her career laurels, in addition to the acting, and has a hit song out called “Starving” as in
(Breathlessly) “I didn’t know I was starving til I tasted you”
She’s singing like a woman in heat, and she looks just as hot.
“Starving” brings to mind another hit, by another woman, who was also singing about hot sex. Twenty-two years ago Merril Bainbridge, who is now 48, but at the time was just 26, had a hit with “Mouth” which was so hot it went to number one in her native Australia and Top 5 in the U.S.A
Back to Hailee, who has morphed from cute kid to femme fatale and is super successful in two different entertainment fields: singing and acting.
How can one girl be so lucky? It helps that “Starving” is produced by hot producer Grey and that the super talented Zedd, a tremendously skilled musician and DJ, is featured on the song. Grammy winner Zedd lends legitimacy to newcomer Steinfeld.
“Starving” is perfect for summer: The lyrics and production are as easy to listen to as a beach novel is to read—breezy yet steamy and not too challenging or memorable.
