“The Weeknd” is a 25-year-old multi-talented pop star from Toronto who sings, writes and produces his own music; he’s been on the Top 40 charts virtually non-stop for the past year and a half with a string of top 10 hits.

While he has his own style and sound, it’s clear he’s been influenced by Michael Jackson, and his latest, the up-tempo “In the Night”–already in the top #15—is reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s “You Make Me Feel So Good, and like that 1987 mega hit, “In the Night” is about a woman—this one is “riveting” and she’s also “capable of anything” which makes for interesting lyrics.

The Weeknd is a creative, intelligent writer. His music is multi-layered, rhythmic, sophisticated and tight.

He got his name because he left home –to meet his destiny–on “the weekend,” which he thought was a good omen–and he was right.

* Recent hits include: “Can’t Feel My Face,” “Earned It,” from the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” soundtrack and “Love Me Harder” with Arianna Grande, which went to #1
