When Ed Sheeran delivers a new song, massive pop airplay on multiple formats is guaranteed, and his latest release, “Bad Habits,” which has been out just a little over two weeks, has raced up the charts: on Top 40, it’s #7, on Adult Top 40, #8, and on Adult Contemporary it’s ranked #14.
“Bad Habits” is smooth and silky, with intelligent lyrics, a grown up story line and the summertime energy and Euro flavored beat reminiscent of 1984’s “Small-town Boy,” by Bronski Beat.
“Bad Habits” is on Sheeran’s upcoming, and as of yet untitled, fifth album– his first since July, 2019.
