“Cheyenne,“ Derulo’s latest hit, laments a lost girlfriend, whom he never thought he’d fall in love with in the first place.

Dave hears the energy and rhythmic sprit of Michael Jackson’s early 80s monster hit “Thriller.”

Dave also noted that in addition to “Cheyenne,” there’s another popular song out this summer, “Can’t Feel My Face.” by The Weeknd, which also “has elements—an echo—of the distinctive Michael Jackson sound.”
