The current music scene can sometimes bewilder us Boomers; there are (really) young artists with unfamiliar names and musical styles. That said, most of us have have at least heard of the English-Irish pop boy-band One Direction, which is huge and has been around since 2010.

Each of the original* One Direction members has made successful, individual musical forays and the last of the foursome to go solo is Liam Payne and his “Strip That Down” is Just. So. Cool.  It seduces with that quirky, breathy vibe that made that Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” a classic.

“Strip That Down” features Quavo, who’s in the top-notch rapper group from Georgia, “Migos.”
Maybe that’s TMI (too much information), but bottom line, even though “Strip That Down” targets a young demo, it’s good enough to appeal to Boomers who appreciate a good song.

Top 40 music fans are quickly embracing “Strip That Down”, which is just outside the Top 20 most played this week; early signs point to it  winning over Adult Top 40 listeners, too.

*Original band-member Zayn Malik has been replaced by Louis Tomlinson, who has not recorded solo.
