Sometimes we Boomers think that “Our” generation was “the best,”–musically speaking.  We had Elvis, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan–hard acts for Gen X and Millennials to follow.

Which is why it’s always a good thing when a 20-something blows us out of the water, as Joe Jonas, formerly of the mega-star boy-band Jonas Brothers, does, with his new band DNCE and their revamped version of Rod Stewart’s fun and saucy 1979 classic, “Do You Think I’m Sexy.”

Jonas’ tweaks make the song modern and hip;  then he hits it out of the park by including  Mr. “Do You Think I’m Sexy” himself, Rod Stewart, in both the song and the video. And just so you know, 72-year-old Rod holds his own.

“Do You Think I’m Sexy,” is a feel good song for the ages, a song to feel, to dance to, to sing, not a song to ponder over glasses of red wine. It’s perfect for family reunions when everyone, from age 8 – 80, dances.  Good, clean fun.

This current version is Top 10 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and #35 in Adult Top 40.

Rod’s original clocked in at over four and a half minutes while this new mix is almost a minute shorter.
