Three years ago Banners, stage name for Mike Nelson, did well with his rocker “Someone To You,” which recently went viral on Tik Tok, leading to a massive increase in streams and a revival of the song’s popularity, this time crossing over to pop.
Lyrically, “Someone To You” strikes a nerve from both a romantic standpoint and the need for connection — it’s especially relatable during the pandemic, as it’s been difficult to connect with friends and family.
