Back in 1982, When Michael McDonald sang
I keep forgettin’ we’re not in love anymore
I keep forgettin’ things will never be the same again
…it was the whole package that made the song so emotionally impactful and believable: McDonald’s voice, the lyrics, the music and the production–the story of a man trying to forget.
Which brings us to today, and KYGO, the multi-talented DJ/Producer from Norway–he’s teamed up with L.A. singer/songwriter/actor Miguel, and they, too, are singing the same lament, “Remind Me To Forget,” a cool, 21st century Soulful/Pop song gaining on the Top 40 chart, currently hovering around #15.
It doesn’t matter where you are, you can keep my regret
‘Cause baby I got these scars, reminding me to forget
Boomer Music Update featured KYGO a year and half ago–his “It Ain’t Me” collaboration with Selena Gomez.
