EDM are the initials that stand for Electronic Dance Music, a recognizable mesmerizing repetitious beat, mainly for play at raves, clubs, and festivals, but now it’s mainstream and really hot, even impacting songs in other formats, ranging from Top 40 to Rhythmic Top 40 to Alternative.

One of the world’s top EDM producers is France’s DJ Snake; his trademark is his seamless blends of the above-mentioned dance beats with hip-hop.

However, his latest creation, “Let Me Love You,” is driven by a solid pop melody, and it also features the voice of Justin Bieber, a solid Top 40 act, whose “Cold Water” is currently #5.

“Let Me Love You” is already Top 20, which means “The Biebs” has two songs charting at the same time. That’s special.

In 1981 the late Luther Vandross had a hit with “Never Too Much” and even though his and Bieber’s singing styles are different, both songs share a common underpinning: a similar rhythmic and melodic flow.

Full disclosure: I don’t really know what Justin Bieber sounds like and I’m pretty positive I wouldn’t be able to recognize any of his songs. He’s just not my type. Too young. Or so I thought. I loved this song, it’s so modern and clean and fresh. The lyrics are OK, not deep thoughts, however the beat is hypnotic and even meditative.

Justin Bieber is so young, and such a superstar: he has eight entries in the 2017 Guinness book of records, including:

Most Twitter followers (82,235,563)

Most simultaneous tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 (17 in December 2015).
