John Waites’ emotional ballad, 1984’s “Missing You,” was almost too personal and intimate, his voice and delivery aching; it was a painful break up.  He understood a broken heart.  “Missing You” reached #1;  currently, it has over 25 million views on Youtube.

27-year old Canadian singer/songwriter JP Saxe also understands a broken heart; we can hear his hurt, his loss… “A Little Bit Yours” knows the lasting and intense effect of a love affair, even if it has ended.

All I do is get over you

I let myself hope
I let myself feel things I know that you don’t

You’re not mine anymore

But I’m still a little bit yours

Saxe is just coming off his breakthrough hit, “If the World Was Ending,” his duet with Julia Michaels that benefited Doctors Without Borders, hit a global nerve, and has an all-star cast of vocal contributors: Keith Urban, Sam Smith, H.E.R. Niall Horan, Alessia Cara, producer Finneas O’Connell.

“A Little Bit Yours” ranks #34 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
