Thank you Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson for “Music from Big Pink,” a remarkable collection of songs that shook up the musical landscape 50 years ago, and that sounds just as fresh today as it did when it was released.

Regardless of your musical preferences, i.e.  Album Rock or Top 40, (which often had very different playlists), odds are, in the summer of ’68, you heard the bands now classic hit “The Weight,” which, btw, was one of the songs the group played in their final performance, in 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.

To mark the anniversary of this legendary album’s release is a deluxe box set that includes five discs, Blu-ray audio, vinyl LP’s, a hardcover book and more.
