Dave Sholin wrote this tribute:

Sad news out of New Orleans last week on the passing of songwriter and producer Allen Toussaint.

His name and the music of the Crescent City will forever be etched into our consciousness. The list of artists who’ve recorded Toussaint’s creations runs the gamut from The Stones, Glen Campbell, The Who and The Yardbirds.

His dozens of hit songs are a Boomer’s soundtrack…Mother In-Law, Working In A Coal Mine, Southern Nights, and a song not as well known but that rates as an R&B classic… “Lipstick Traces” by the O’Jays. Bless you, thank you and R.I.P. Allen Toussaint.

I took Dave’s suggestion, and  listened to “Lipstick Traces” –classy.  Just like Allen Toussaint.
