It’s awards month in the music world. A week and a half ago the spotlight shined on Nashville and the Country Music Awards but on Sunday attention turns to Los Angeles and the 2017 American Music Awards, with highlight performances by Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez plus a tribute to Whitney Houston by Christina Aguilera—this being the 25th Anniversary of the soundtrack of “The Bodyguard” and “I Will Always Love You” a song that topped Billboard’s 1992 charts for 14 weeks.

When Dick Clark launched the American Music awards 45 years ago, Diana Ross was already a superstar, both as a solo artist and with The Supremes–on Sunday night she’ll be be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, on the heels of today’s release of “Diamond Diana: The Legacy” featuring 15 songs, among them “Love Hangover,” “Upside Down,”  “I’m Coming Out” and, from her Supreme’s days,  “You Can’ t Hurry Love.”

Congratulations MISS ROSS!
