“Baby Driver,” one of this summer’s hottest and hippest films, rates 97% on “Rotten Tomatoes” and the soundtrack is getting enough raves that it instantly became one of the top selling albums on iTunes.

The soundtrack’s songs range from oldies:  “Nowhere To Run” Martha & The Vandellas, “Harlem Shuffle” Bob & Earl, The Champs “Tequila”, “Radar Love” by Golden Earring, Barry White “Never Never Gonna Give You Up” to the established and au courant: Gwen Stefani, Danger Mouse, Beck and Run the Jewels.

And, of course, there’s the original Simon & Garfunkel entry from which the movie got its title.  “Baby Driver” never was a single –it was a cut on the duos last album, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Listening to “Baby Driver” was a reminder that Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel harmonizing was magical, and I had a renewed appreciation of their work.
