Country legend Reba McEntire and Cher, the Queen of Everything, were celebrated last month at the 41st Annual Kennedy Honors, which was broadcast the day after Christmas, when Boomer Music Update was on holiday break.

Both honorees had tributes paid to them by an array of artists: Little Big Town sang a medley of Cher hits, including “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves,” “I Found You,” and “Baby Don’t Go.” Kelly Clarkson sang “Fancy,” Bobbie Gentry’s monster hit from the 70s that Reba covered in 1991 and and took Top 10.

Two Baby Boomer women entertainers, and their remarkable careers, so deserving of  this special recognition.
