1957 was a big year for the late Bobby Helms. “My Special Angel” became the 24-year old singer’s first #1 hit, and then, just months later, he recorded the now iconic, timeless, holiday classic “Jingle Bell Rock.”  (At the time, it was popular, but never reached #1.)

Recently, The P1 Media Group asked 25-54 y/o Americans to rate the “10 Most Played Christmas Songs” from a season ago. When tallied, seven of the “Top 10” songs were from 1945-1963 and the top three were #1 Bobby Helms’ 60-year old “Jingle Bell Rock,” #2 was “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee and #3 “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” by Andy Williams.
