On June 1st the world celebrated “Sargent Pepper’s” 50th birthday, and a scant two weeks later, June 14th, Paul McCartney celebrates his 75th …here’s a video of him singing “They Say It’s Your Birthday” and it’s electrifying.
McCartney was only 26-years old when he and John Lennon wrote this classic, rockin’ ode, which has become almost as synonymous with birthdays as the standard “Happy Birthday To You.” Included on 1968’s “The White Album” you can hear the influence of the early 50s rock that inspired Paul and his fellow Beatles.
At 75 years old, McCartney is an inspiration–still recording, writing, and touring.
