Six years ago, Glen Campbell announced to the world that he had Alzheimer’s disease. Four days ago, the dreaded, yet expected, news arrived.  The legendary singer had died at age 81.

For  six decades Campbell defined what it meant to be a multi -talented performer: singer, musician, TV star, actor and even master joke teller.

Long before he became a solo artist–when he hit it big with “Gentle On My Mind” –he was a member of the famed “Wrecking Crew,” where he played on scores of  60’s hits—according to Rolling Stone magazine, Campbell backed 586 songs.  In addtion he played guitar on “Pet Sounds” and even traveled with the Beach Boys.

Campbell has sold over 45 million records; he’s is in both the Grammy and the Country Music Halls Of Fame; his numerous awards include six Grammys and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
His star shines brightly on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame and we fans have hundreds of wonderful memories, including this moment from his TV Show “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour.”
