Boomer Lionel Richie was barely 30-years old, in 1976, when his group The Commodores scored early hits like “Sweet Love” and “Just To Be Close To You”–when he went solo, six years later, he was off to the races!

In 1981 Richie wrote the theme song for the film “Endless Love,” and recorded it with Diana Ross; it shot to #1 and stayed there for nine weeks–and was the biggest single of Ross’ career. In 2011 Billboard named it “The Best Duet Of All Time!”

Just now coming off a season as a judge on “American Idol,” Richie has already kicked off his 33 city “Hello Tour” which wraps in August.

Next Thursday (6/20) is the big day..let’s all go “Dancing on the Ceiling.”
