While it would be real scream if Willie Nelson’s birthday was April 20th (4/20–marijuana glorification day), in fact, his birthday was yesterday, and he turned 88.

In 2018, Nelson won a Grammy for “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” for “My Way,” his Frank Sinatra tribute collection, and he’s just released “That’s Life,” with even more Sinatra standards, including “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.”

This is Nelson’s 71st solo album, and, not to diminish Sinatra, but Willie’s own song book is just as impressive: “Crazy,” “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “Funny How Time Slips Away” and scores more.

Liking Willie Nelson is akin to liking dogs:  almost everybody likes dogs, and almost everybody likes Willie Nelson, too.
