Today is not only the longest day of the year, it’s the official “start of Summer 2019” which is also the 50th anniversary of that most memorable “Summer of ‘69,” which included such historic events as “The Stonewall Uprising” (June), the Apollo 11 moon landing (July) and Woodstock, in August (also, the  Manson murders were in August).

Throughout all the tumult, the #1 song, for six solid weeks, 50 years ago, was “In the Year 2525″ a bleak look into the future, and a one-hit wonder for an act from Nebraska called Zager & Evans.
