“Eight Days A Week,” Ron Howard’s Beatles documentary, arrived in theaters yesterday; the film focuses on the touring years, 1963-1966, and includes concert footage, interviews and behind the scene tales of what went on during that time.
Such is the power and mystique of the Beatles that “Eight Days A Week” attracted an A-list movie-maker working with almost 50 year old vintage video, about a band that lasted for eight years, and disbanded 46 years ago.
The Beatles appeal not just to Boomers—“Eight Days a Week” is likely to draw a sizeable crowd of Millennials, who buy and listen to Beatles music, too. This could be their first in-depth look at why previous generations revered the band.
When the movie run is completed, the film will be the first documentary streamed on Hulu.
