One of the highlights of Sunday night’s 62nd Grammy Awards  show (CBS/ 8pm ET/5P PT) will be when Bonnie Raitt presents John Prine a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 1970 Raitt recorded  Prine’s  “Angel From Montgomery” — it became a hit and is now a classic, and even though Prine also recorded it, in his self-titled 1971 album, it was Raitt’s version that earned Prine’s composition wide recognition and acclaim.

In an interview , Raitt praised “Angel from Montgomery,” noting how much it means to her and to her fans, and the importance of the song to her body of work.

The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award  “celebrates performers who have made outstanding contributions of artistic significance to the field of recording.

Prine is one of seven Lifetime Achievement Award winners to be honored on Grammy night.
