In the 15 years since “The Man In Black” passed away, the number of books written about Johnny Cash could  fill several shelves at book stores and libraries.

The latest tome promises something new: “The Man In Song: A Discographic Biography Of Johnny Cash” by John Alexander takes readers through the singer’s life story by way of his songs, both known and little known, addressing why Cash wrote a specific song or decided to record it.

Country star Larry Gatlin wrote the forward and says “This book  is a totally different light on Cash than I have ever seen before” calling it “a masterpiece.”
