This week’s “Wild Card” is a “Back Seat Slow Jam” doo-wop classic, “Oh What a Nite,” a song so good that The Dells had a hit with it twice, first in 1956 when it reached #4 on the R&B charts, and again, 13 years later, in 1969, when they repackaged it as a “soul” song, and made it into Billboard’s “Top 10.” Rolling Stone ranks “Oh What a Nite” as #260 on their “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”
