A musical adaptation of the Christmas movie classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” is brewing and famed English West End show producer Bill Kenwright and scriptwriter Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot,” “Rocketman”) are over the moon that Paul McCartney agreed to write the music, which he’s been working on for the past year.

McCartney has said that “writing a musical is not something that had ever appealed to me” but reconsidered–because of  the universal appeal of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” he said the project  “could be interesting and fun.”  McCartney has the heart and soul of an artist, creating and exploring is what he does.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” is a Christmas tradition at my house, and it will be interesting to hear McCartney’s music for this classic scene between Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.
