John Prine, storyteller extraordinaire and an icon of the Americana music scene, died April 7h after developing Covid 19.
An early Boomer (born 1946), Prine’s story songs and melodies could be humorous, touching, witty, thought provoking, and emotional as they observed life’s vagaries. He delivered entertainment, inspiration, and comfort.
Here’s a clip of Prine singing a duet (from 4-years ago, and it wasn’t aired) with and an obviously impressed Late Show TV host Stephen Colbert, who described the experience as “one of the happiest moments I’ve had on my show.”
